I don't believe in marriage at worst I think it is a hostile political act. A way for small minded men to keep women in the house and out of the way, wrapped up in the guise of tradition and conservative religious nonsense. At best it is a happy delusion. It's two people who love each other and have no idea about how truly miserable they are about to make each other but, when two people know that and with eyes wide open face each other and get married anyway, then I don't think it is conservative or delusional. I think it is radical and courageous and very romantic.~ Tina Modotti

Sometimes love makes you dress silly.

  1. I suppose I can see Tina's point. ;-) Glad you have found love, even if it makes you dress silly! Happy Valentine's Day - and (as I just found out today on NPR) - Happy Ferris Bueller's Day! ;-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  6. Frida is one of my favorite movies.Tina spoke knowing full well the love and hate that would come from Frida and Diego's marriage. She knew what she was talking about and seemed to be making that statement from experience and straight from her heart!

Enjoyed seeing the pics of the parents. Amazing how much you girls favor your Moms!
And that pic of you three girls? Looks like trouble with a capital "T". lol

Happy hundred years Birthday to Arizona! From Oklahoma!

  7. Hi Parker! How do you know everything? hee hee I had no idea you would know anything about Frida and here you are. I totally agree with you about Tina's statement.

Dori and I wish we favored our mothers...but thanks Parker! We both favor our father's just a little bit more. And I mean in looks. ;) My mother modeled for a little while in France. My dad said, men would stop in the middle of the street to look at her.lol

I'm convinced the nicest people come from Oklahoma! I have met a few already and now you! Have a fantastic day! =)

  10. I take it Dori's parents were "flower children?"....sorry I couldn't resist since the color of the photo and all the flowers sent me back a few ;) She looks just like them. And you look just like yours. It's funny how sometimes we can't escape the inevitable. Lovely photos.

  11. Thanks Teresa. They sure look like flower children but they are both republicans now. haha. I think this photo was taken in Flagstaff, AZ. It's so true, you can't get away completely from your genes. =)

  12. Love the old shots and this is a great movie. I am more fan of what Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn have going on. No need for marriage.
